Things to do in Atlanta

About a week ago, I was in Atlanta, Georgia together with my family. The nature of my job is I do travel a lot from one place to another place. So everytime I have my travel, I always bring my family with me. My children are in school yet that’s why they can go with me. We really had a great time in Georgia because there are so many things to do in Atlanta. I am not into clubs or a place that is crowded. I will prefer something cool and natural like nature sight seeing. Anyway, we enjoyed our travel and my children had lots activities. We visited the Atlanta Aquarium too.

We planned to visit in Stone Mountain but we are running out of time. I don’t have much information of this mountain that’s why I didn’t pay attention. But I heard the Stone Mountain is really great. You can find a lot of information in this website at Trusted Tours & Attractions. If you are interested, you can check out the Madame Tussauds. This website is a one online travel guides. Failing Mark By Mistake

One day, my Science teacher gave our fourth quarter grades. Me and my classmates were excited to see our grades if we had failed in her subjects or not. After my teacher distributed our grades, she called me and explained to me that I failed in her subject but my card showed a passing grade. She said she had mistakenly marked my report card with a passing grade instead of failing me. My failing grade instead went to one of my classmates. I was so happy because my card showed no failing red marks which meant that summer I didn’t took Science summer classes.

It Pays to Read

Even though my daughter is still very young to read novels, newspapers, magazines and other reading materials, I am now starting to expose her to such things. I wanted her to value the act reading because it really pays to read. I’m not really a bookworm, honestly. But I have proven that one benefits a lot from reading different reading materials, especially those which interests me. For one, it enhanced my vocabulary and grammar. Plus, you get additional information that you’ve never known before. Start reading today, and get your benefits tomorrow!

Stuck Up

My grandfather was a famous jeweler in our city during his time. One day, one of our neighbors, a constant customer went to the shop of my grandpa and showed him her swelling finger due to a ring that stucked up in her finger. She couldn't get it off her now black and blue finger. My grandpa sewed the ring in the customer’s finger which took him all afternoon to sew that day. While sewing the ring, the customer cried in between. Before evening came the ring that stucked up in the lady's finger was detached off. The lady thanked my grandpa, almost kissing him for her predicament.

Badminton Extreme

If Americas are crazy about sports like basketball, football, soccer and baseball, Asians and Europeans alike are crazy about badminton! Badminton is the fastest rising sport in Asia. But I don’t know if it’s the same in Europe though. But the two continents are having an annual badminton competition which they call “Asia vs. Europe ”. This year is their third year of holding the competition and they say that this would be the make or break year since Asia won the first year and Europe dominated the second year. Badminton may not be as tough and as physical as basketball but it surely will test your reflexes to the max!

International Flight

My first experience riding an international flight was in one of the world's biggest airlines three winters ago. The service was superb. The passengers were served with different foodstuffs every now and then by the cabin crew. It stopped over in Japan where Filipino and Asian stewardesses were followed by western blondes the rest of the trip. The long and tiring trip took us nineteen hours from the Philippines to Michigan, USA, as my port of entry. The airlines flight I rode was....fly high!!! Its Northwest.

Parade

When I was younger, I’ve seen and joined a lot of parades in my youth, because I live in the city. Everytime the city's feast day arrives, there is a parade. The parade has lots of participating contingents coming from the different sectors—private and government firms, schools, military-army and police and non-government organizations. The floats are a treat to spectators since they are huge and ship shaped like colorfully decorated floats like that of the Muslim floats that is lined up with small shiny coins all over the float. The parade lasts till about three hours.

Action Against Parents

Education is life’s greatest equalizer and the number one anti-poverty measure. Knowing its importance and role in life, parents are encouraged to send their children to school. However, it has been observed that dropout cases are high for parents want them to help in household chores or in the farm. A bill have been filed in Congress that all children of school age should be in school and those parents who refuse to send them to school must be punished. Poverty cannot be an excuse for education is free in the primary and secondary levels in the Philippines. I support the action for who wouldn’t like to live in a place with educated people?

Improving Yourself

The only constant thing in this world is change. Whether we like it or not, we all need to change. And it’s our choice if we wanted to change for the better or to change for the worst. But if we say that we opt to IMPROVE, then that would definitely mean changing into something much better. The way to improvement may either be formal or informal. Formal means of improvement are through trainings and seminars. But improving the informal way seems more fun to me. It’s simply doing things that you’ve never done before. Be courageous and never afraid to commit mistakes! Besides, we can always learn from our mistakes and never commit it again.

Dare to Lead

They say that real leaders are born and not made. But for me, I say, being made or born a leader doesn’t really matter at all. I believe that good and effective leaders are those who are good and effective followers. How will one lead if one don’t know how to follow, right?! Real leaders are those who show competence, conscience and commitment. They show competence to get their goals done, conscience to make sure they do it in a legal way and commitment to serve others. So hone your leadership skills today and dare to take the lead tomorrow!

Funny Jokes

I have been looking a website about Jokes, something funny so that I can share it with my friends. You know, I work third shift and usually night shift is not busy and my co-workers will go to my department. We spend together by sharing our jokes and laugh together. It is really fun and it makes my belly ache because their jokes are very funny.

Icky Tooth Decays

Tooth decays are common among children in America. And I’m afraid my daughter my daughter would also suffer from the pain of decayed tooth. I brought her to a dentist to have her teeth checked if she has tooth decays. Good thing her dentist declared her free of tooth decays. But her dentist stressed out that it is better to be preventive than curative when it comes to our oral health. She advised me to cut down the amount of sweet snacks that my child is taking and I should help my child in brushing her teeth twice a day and after meals and lastly, take my daughter to her clinic at least once every six months. Prevention is really vital to avoid tooth decay.

Affordable Eyeglasses

Aside from my contact lens, I am also using prescription eyeglasses. For me, eyeglasses are very convenient to wear than wearing lenses. I found a website that sells high quality glasses and that is from zennioptical.com. They have many glasses that you can choose from and very affordable too. Since they are cheap, I think I will 2 to 3 pairs of glasses.

Needlework

One of my hobbies is cross-stitch. I love to collect patterns that are very colorful and lively. I was able to finish Wild Rush (6 horses), farmland (the biggest), and landscape. I usually stay late at night to work on my cross-stitch. I remember I sold one of my works to my officemate and my sister was quite disappointed about it.

Coconut Tree

It is known as a tree of life because every part of this tree has many functions or usage.

Let us start with its trunk, it is frequently use in building materials. Its coconut shell is well known as the source of charcoal and a by-product for arts and craft including its leaves and husks. From its shoot, the ever famous tuba. Oh! And its water it is a good source of electrolyte. Did you know that is use as alternative for dextrose? Its meat is a great supply of food like the ever favorite bukayo, candies, and macaroons. And last of all, it is a natural source of oil.

Feeling Like A Typhoon Victim

Spending a whole day with my married friends and their five year old daughter left me feeling like a typhoon victim. The child was not gifted with the ability to sit still for more than two seconds.

It starts with “Honey, behave,” followed by “Sweetie, please stop” and usually ends with “If you do not do exactly as Mama says, I will stop talking to you. I mean it!” obviously, early weak warnings have no effect on the little girl and the mom ends up ignoring her child as promised. The result is magical: her daughter stops, runs toward her mom, gives her a big hug and promises never to disobey her again. At this, the mom returns the hug and everything is back to normal. At least until the girl starts misbehaving again.
