Parents usually talk of feeding problems in their children. Food neophobia describes a child who is unwilling to try new foods. This is an initial reaction of a child’s transition from an exclusive milk diet to new complementary foods. Children prefer sweet and salty tastes but reject sour and bitter foods. Parents view this rejection as a problem; hence, they tend to eliminate these from the child’s diet, which further encourages the child’s preference for a limited range of food. Parents must choose the food that is safe and nutritious for the child and offer it in a positive and supportive manner. Easy said than done but as long as your child is choosing nutritious food, you can let him choose what to eat.

Radio Disney Summer Concert Series
